Students in grades 3-5 will receive 40 minutes of general music instruction on a once-a-week basis when in the classroom.  In general music classes, students will have the opportunity to participate in various musical activities in order to learn music fundamentals.  In addition, third-grade students normally learn how to play a flutophone or recorder, both of which are a small pre-band wind instruments.  Students in 4th & 5th grade in a typical learning environment also have the opportunity of being a part of the school chorus.  The main goal of the chorus is to learn how to use the voice in preparation for performance.
